Atkinson Outfitters has been part of the Hartington community for decades. We grew out of a working hardware store and added the gear our neighbours actually asked for — rifles, ammo, fishing tackle, tents, smokers, knives. The Home Hardware aisles are still here, but the outfitter side has its own counter, its own customers, and its own story.

We're not a big-box. The person ringing you in has probably hunted the same WMUs, fished the same lakes, and broken in the same boots you're about to buy. If you walk in with a question, you'll get an answer that comes from someone who's been there — not a script.

We're also an authorized Ontario MNR licensing agent. That means the same trip you make to the shop for ammo or tackle can also cover your Outdoors Card, hunting tag or fishing licence. Stop in, and we'll set you up at the counter.

What we believe

Good gear gets used hard, kept long, and handed down. We try to stock things that earn that — from the everyday tackle to the firearm you'll pass on to your kid. We'd rather sell you the right item once than upgrade you twice.

We believe in keeping it local. Our customers are mostly within a couple-hour drive, and a fair share of them are second- and third-generation regulars. That keeps us honest, and keeps our shelves real.
